Yes! Health Connect and Apple Health allow us to pull your last 30 days of activity. As long as your tracker was recording data to your phone during that time, Synqle can pull it in once connected.
Why aren't my steps updating instantly?
To protect your phone's battery life, Synqle does not constantly run GPS or syncs in the background. To update your leaderboard: First, sync your smartwatch to its own app (like Garmin Connect or Fitbit), then open Synqle and tap the Sync button.
Can I join without a smartwatch?
Absolutely! Your smartphone has a built-in pedometer. Just carry your phone with you, ensure it is permitted to write to Apple Health or Health Connect, or use the Manual Entry feature in the Synqle app to log activities.
How does time zone routing work?
All challenges run on a universal platform timezone to ensure fairness. If you are traveling, just keep syncing your steps normally! Synqle automatically assigns your completed steps to the correct day on the global leaderboard.
Navigating the Web Dashboard
As a wellness manager or admin, your web dashboard is the command center for your challenges.
Creating a Challenge
To launch a new challenge, simply click Create Challenge on your dashboard. You will be able to customize:
The start and end dates.
The goal type (Total Steps, Total Distance, or Daily Streaks).
Whether participants can manually enter data or if they must use a verified wearable device.
Custom chat names to foster team engagement.
Inviting Participants
Once a challenge is created, it will generate a unique Join Code (e.g., `MHAX12`). You can copy this code directly from your dashboard and share it via email or Slack. Participants will enter this code in their mobile app to officially join your roster.
Editing & Managing
Need to adjust the rules? Click the Edit button on any active or upcoming challenge card. You can change chat settings, manual entry permissions, and goal messages at any time.
Note: You cannot change the start or end dates of a challenge once it is live to ensure fairness for all participants.
Deleting & Refunds
If plans change, you can delete an Upcoming challenge before its start date. Clicking delete will automatically void the challenge and initiate a refund for the challenge cost (minus standard Stripe processing fees) directly to your original payment method.
Apple Health (iPhone) Setup
Synqle reads your activity data securely from Apple Health. You must connect your tracker to Apple Health first.
Connecting Garmin to Apple Health
Open the Garmin Connect app.
Tap More > Settings > Connected Apps.
Select Apple Health and toggle Turn On All.
Connecting Strava to Apple Health
Open the Strava app.
Go to Settings (Gear icon) > Applications, Services, and Devices.
Tap Health and connect it. Ensure "Send to Health" is toggled ON.
Connecting Oura Ring to Apple Health
Open the Oura app.
Tap the menu (☰) in the upper left corner.
Tap Settings > Apple Health > toggle it ON.
Notice for Fitbit & iPhone Users
Google/Fitbit does not natively sync with Apple Health. To use a Fitbit with Synqle on an iPhone, you will need to download a free third-party sync app (such as Power Sync for Fitbit or Sync Solver) from the App Store to push your Fitbit steps into Apple Health.
Troubleshooting: Steps look lower than expected?
If Apple Health has both your Phone steps and your Watch steps, it might be prioritizing the phone. Let's fix that:
Open Apple Health.
Go to Browse > Activity > Steps.
Scroll down and tap Data Sources & Access.
Tap Edit in the top right, and drag your Watch (or Strava/Garmin app) to the very top of the list.
Health Connect (Android) Setup
Synqle uses Google's Health Connect system to read your steps. Connect your favorite app to Health Connect to sync your data.
Connecting Samsung Health
Open Samsung Health.
Tap the three dots (⋮) or gear icon to open Settings.
Tap Health Connect.
Toggle Allow all to let Samsung write data to Health Connect.
*Missing recent steps? Scroll back through your Samsung Health step graph manually. This forces Samsung to "push" historical data into the system.
Connecting Fitbit or Google Fit
Open the Fitbit or Google Fit app.
Tap the Settings gear.
Look for Health Connect (or "Manage Health Connect" in Google Fit).
Toggle Allow all or turn on Write Steps.
Connecting Garmin
Open the Garmin Connect app.
Tap Settings > Connected Apps > Health Connect.
Toggle on Allow all permissions.
Connecting Strava or Oura Ring
Open your app (Strava or Oura).
Go to Settings.
Tap Link Other Services (Strava) or Health Connect (Oura) and follow the prompt to grant access.
